Our Mission
Since 1809, the historic Unitarian Meeting House has been the heartbeat of Nantucket: its golden dome a beacon to sailors; its elegant interior a place for the exchange of political, historical, and cultural ideas where debate is welcome, arts flourish, and diverse spirituality is respected.
The South Church Preservation Fund is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. The stewardship of its governing board provides continuing maintenance and preservation of a building that more than any other connects Nantucket to its nineteenth-century past, while enthusiastically looking forward to its third century.
